The Children's Hospital Neighborhood Partnerships (CHNP) at Children's Hospital Boston provides effective, accessible, and culturally competent mental health prevention and intervention services to children and families through ongoing partnerships with 13 Boston-area schools, community health clinics, and community organizations.
CHNP has five strategic priorities. They are:
1. Intervention: To increase access to high quality mental health services for underserved children and families by providing services in schools and community settings.
2. Prevention: To develop, implement, evaluate, and disseminate mental health prevention and early intervention programs that are guided by the best principles of science.
3. Consultation: To build the mental health capacity of partner organizations through staff consultation, training, and professional development activities.
4. Training: To provide training and supervision to aspiring trainees, clinicians, and researchers in the field of community mental health
5. Advocacy: To inform child mental health policy by generating knowledge about and advocating for the mental health needs facing children, families, and communities.
