Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Care (DF/CHCC) represents a more than 60-year partnership between Children's Hospital Boston and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute formed to deliver comprehensive care to children with, and survivors of, all types of childhood cancers.

DF/CHCC, the largest pediatric cancer program in New England and one of the most active in the country, treats more than 2,000 children and adolescents each year. It includes a 20-bed oncology unit, 13-bed stem cell transplantation unit and a newly renovated outpatient facility that holds multiple cancer care clinics each week.

Through DF/CHCC, children receive cancer treatment from a shared team of pediatric oncologists and specially trained and certified oncology nurses from both institutions. Children requiring round-the-clock cancer care are treated at Children's, while outpatient visits are scheduled at Dana-Farber's Jimmy Fund Clinic. Pediatric experts from more than 30 subspecialty areas at Children's provide supplementary care as needed.

DF/CHCC specialists are actively involved in pediatric cancer research and use the latest clinical techniques to improve outcomes and quality of life. Specialties include:

Because more than 75 percent of children diagnosed with cancer will survive into adulthood, DF/CHCC also offers multiple childhood cancer survivor programs to address any late-effects or long-term health concerns related to the patient's original diagnosis or treatment. Childhood cancer survivors of all ages are encouraged to schedule appointments at any time.
