Flor Research Leadership & Clinical Trials
Many of the world's most renowned, respected and active pediatric cancer researchers work at Children's Hospital Boston and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. By working to understand the scientific roots of pediatric cancer, these experts have pioneered childhood cancer treatment advancements, beginning with the first successful remission of childhood leukemia by Sidney Farber, MD.

Together, Children's and Dana-Farber researchers are designing treatments that promise to increase survival rates for children in the most advanced stages of illness. The experts oversee the most Phase I clinical trials in New England, giving your child access to the most advanced treatment options possible.

Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Care researchers assume active roles in the following childhood cancer research groups:

  • Children's Oncology Group
  • Dana-Farber Cancer Institute ALL Consortium
  • Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium
  • New Approaches for Neuroblastoma Therapy (NANT) Consortium
Current areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
  • Reducing the risk of complications when using imperfect donor cells in haploidentical pediatric stem cell transplants.
  • Investigating the efficacy of new drugs to prevent relapse in children with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
  • Using unique oral chemotherapeutic drug combinations to treat brain tumors on an outpatient basis.
